All eyes will be skyward aton as the B-25 Maid in the Shade makes her way to the Heber City Airport. Two years ago she celebrated her 70th birthday at the Heber City Airport. This stop-over is part of the aircraft’s 2016 Flying Legends of Victory Tour.
Restored and maintained by the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Airbase Arizona, this historic warbird will be available for all to see June 20th 12:00pm-4:00pm and June 21st and 22nd . The aircraft will depart early on the 23rd. Take a ride or tour the big bird – or just marvel at her magnificent beauty.
The B-25 played an important role in WWII. It was an American twin-enginemedium bomber manufactured by North American Aviation. It was used by manyAllied Air Forces in every theater of World War II, as well as many other Air Forces after the war ended. It saw service across four decades.
The B-25 appearance is sponsored by the Utah Wing of the CAF. The Utah Wing maintains an aviation museum at the Heber City Airport including a Boeing PT-17 Stearman bi-plane and a North American Aviation T-6 Texan. Both aircraft will be on display along with the B-25 and available for rides. The museum is open - , through October.
The CAF is an all-volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to restoring and maintaining and flying WWII aircraft for the purpose of honoring veterans and educating the general public about the importance of WWII in American history.
