Nobletts/Log Hollow

This scenic loop trail makes a good day-hike or a short overnight backpack trip. The length is just under seven miles, but the starting and ending points are separated by over a mile of highway. Either a vehicle parked at each end or a mile-and-a-half walk along the highway is required to connect the loop. The hike climbs fairly steeply through thick conifer forest to reach beautiful grassy meadows atop the ridge, ideal for camping. The trail meanders along the ridge offering spectacular views across the valley below. It then drops down into Log Hollow and returns to the highway. To reach the trailhead, follow Highway 35 east of Woodland approximately 2.5 miles past the forest boundary sign to a parking area and trailhead on the left. Two trails originate at this trailhead; Nobletts/Log Hollow trail branches left. To leave a vehicle at Log Hollow, before reaching the Nobletts trailhead, travel approximately one mile past the forest boundary sign to a small paved parking area and trailhead on the left.
