You may not know this but there are over 30 non-chain restaurants in the Heber Valley to choose from. I have even reviewed a few of them already, from best burgers, to sweets, to good old fashion cooking. Today, I want to review three great places where the food matches the outdoor dining experience. For the sake of time and space I’m not going to review the food, suffice it to say, “it’s dang good.”
You may think it’s strange to be talking about outdoor dining, especially after all the recent rain. However, now is just as good as any time, and Heber Valley has some of the greatest places to dine al fresco. With the recent rain, our valley has once again been revived to the lush green landscapes that are common in the spring time. So now is a good time to dine outdoors.
Here are my three favorite places to dine outdoors in the Heber Valley.
Fanny’s Grill -
Sitting just off the number 10 tee of the Crater Springs Golf Course, the patio seating at Fanny’s Grill offers you the country club feel, but without the high dues of membership. The patio extends over a geothermal spring fed pond that is known to have elegant geese, swans and coy fish swimming by.
Fanny’s is open for breakfast and lunch making it a perfect place to either start your day off right with clean mountain air, or a nice midday break from the office grind.
Café Galleria –
What I love about dining at Café Galleria is the energy you feel when you’re there. The light traffic on Main Street, the low dim of people conversing around you, and of course the live music from 5 to 9 daily all add to the liveliness of such this fun place to eat. Drive down Midway Main Street almost any evening during the summer and you’re bound to feel the pull of the good vibes coming from the fresh air patio of Café Galleria pulling you in.
Recently, they have upgraded many of their tables on the patio area making it more comfortable and appealing to eat as the Italians say “al fresco.”
Blue Boar Inn and Restaurant –
If you’re ever like me and finding yourself needing to take your spouse on an overdue romantic night out, make your way to the Hinterhoff outdoor patio at the Blue Boar Inn and Restaurant. At the foot of the Midway Mountains, the lush tree-lined patio gives you the feeling of solitude that’s just right for a quiet night out.
After ordering your food, take a moment to explore the grounds of the Inn. You’ll feel like you’ve been transported to your own private forest. There are a few surprises waiting that are worth discovering.
Now it’s your turn to experience some great outdoor dining in the Heber Valley on us. We’ll be giving away a $30 gift card to one of these restaurants of your choice. All you need to do is enter the drawing on our contest page by clicking the button. The winner will be announced August 15. Good Luck and bon appetit!
