Winter and Summer Adventures Abound

The Wasatch Mountains are home to every variety of activities for both winter and summer fun.  During the summer months you'll find trails for hiking and biking, lakes and rivers for fishing and boating, forests for camping and exploring and more while winter activities provide areas for snow skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ice skating and ice fishing just to name a few.

Alta Ski Area

Map Some suggest that Alta is a mountain with a soul. Others who are involved in the industry lament that "Alta is the best of what they were." It may be that the combination of a rich history and a dedication to the pureness of the skiing experience verify the claims. Alta is a skiers' mountain: snowboarding is not allowed.

Brighton Ski Resort

Map What started with one rope tow in 1936 now has become a world-class mountain resort offering a wide variety of terrain covered by an incredible amount of snow. Brighton's three high-speed quad, one fixed-grip quad, and three double chair lifts provide access to this winter wonderland of fun and diversity for all types of skiers and snowboarders.

The Canyons

Map With over 3,700 acres and 152 trails of the Greatest Snow on Earth®, it’s not surprising that both SKI and SKIING magazine readers have ranked The Canyons as one of the top ski resorts in North America. Last season, they added over $10 million in improvements to the resort, including a new high-speed 6-pack on Tombstone, expansion of Red Pine Lodge and 200+ new acres of pristine glades and trails off the new DreamCatcher lift.

Cascade Springs Nature Trail

Map This short walk through Cascade Springs is only one-half mile, but its scenic beauty and improved trails make it enjoyable for families and hikers of all ages.

Center Canyon

Map This four-mile out-and-back route follows Center Canyon through aspen forest and meadows of columbine. Wildlife is common, including the occasional rattlesnake, so keep a watchful eye.

Clegg Canyon

Map The Clegg Canyon trail follows a narrow canyon through oak, conifer and aspen stands.

Co-op Creek

Map This out-and-back trail follows Co-op Creek through a beautiful conifer forest where wildlife is common; watch for elk, moose, and deer.

Cummings Parkway Loop

Map This is a long ride for experienced bikers, a minimum of 20 miles depending on variations to the route. The ride travels through conifer and aspen forest and accesses some of Wasatch County's most scenic viewpoints.

Currant Creek Nature Trail
