Heber Valley Recreation: Abundant Year-round Adventure

The Wasatch Mountains are home to a variety of activities for both winter and summer fun. During the summer months you'll find trails for hiking and biking, lakes and rivers for fishing and boating, and forests for camping and exploring. Winter activities include world-class ski resorts in Park City, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ice skating and ice fishing.

Mill Hollow Area Trail

This three-mile loop trail is accessible from Mill Hollow Campground and offers some scenic views across the forest canopy, overlooking Mill Hollow Reservoir.

Mill Hollow Reservoir is nestled in a forested setting high in the mountains east of Heber Valley. This tiny 17 surface-acre reservoir is restricted to non-motorized watercraft, making it the perfect getaway for rafts, canoes, or float-tubes.

Mill Hollow Trail

This easy three-mile out-and-back hike is fun for any hiker! The trail follows Nobletts Creek, spilling over fascinating travertine geologic formations to the creek's origin, a rockfall where the stream surfaces from underground.

Mount Timpanogos Trail

This 18 mile hike rises nearly 6,000 feet in elevation through wilderness on the Uinta National Forest and is one of the most scenic hikes in the area. The trail climbs past innumerable waterfalls, through meadows of wildflowers, across talus slopes to the rocky 11,750-foot summit of Mount Timpanogos.

This scenic loop trail makes a good day-hike or a short overnight backpack trip. The length is just under seven miles, but the starting and ending points are separated by over a mile of highway.

Pine Creek Nature Trail

This 1.2 mile trail winds its way along Pine Creek, traversing several boulder ridges, through the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains. A variety of plants can be seen along this trail as well as an abundance of wildlife.

The sage loop trail is accessed from Dutch Canyon, off of North River Road in Midway. Drive down the dirt access road into the canyon about one mile to a grassy area on the right.
