Heber Valley Recreation: Abundant Year-round Adventure

The Wasatch Mountains are home to a variety of activities for both winter and summer fun. During the summer months you'll find trails for hiking and biking, lakes and rivers for fishing and boating, and forests for camping and exploring. Winter activities include world-class ski resorts in Park City, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ice skating and ice fishing.

Nobletts/Log Hollow

This scenic loop trail makes a good day-hike or a short overnight backpack trip. The length is just under seven miles, but the starting and ending points are separated by over a mile of highway.

This 1.2 mile trail winds its way along Pine Creek, traversing several boulder ridges, through the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains. A variety of plants can be seen along this trail as well as an abundance of wildlife.

Sage Loop

The sage loop trail is accessed from Dutch Canyon, off of North River Road in Midway. Drive down the dirt access road into the canyon about one mile to a grassy area on the right.

Sleepy Hollow Trail

Sleepy Hollow Trail climbs through aspen forest approximately three miles one way to overlook Strawberry Reservoir.

Snake Creek Canyon

Experienced hikers/riders will enjoy exploring miles of trails through scenic forests and lush vegetation of Snake Creek Canyon, nestled is Wasatch Mountain State Park west of Midway.

Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort

The 2,500 acres of ski-terrain are accessed by 11 ski lifts and an aerial tram - as well as a brand new tunnel, which swiftly connects snowboarders and skiers to Mineral Basin's back bowls. Not that Snowbird is just for skiing. You can snowshoe, snowmobile and take guided mountain tours here.

This 16-mile intermediate loop is a favorite with area mountain bikers. The high elevation makes for cool temperatures throughout the summer and the scenery is spectacular! Meadows of wildflowers intermixed with spruce forest typify the landscape and distant views of the High Uinta Mountains dot the horizon.
