Spring/Summer/Fall Tours
Fish & Chips
Golf and Fly Fish
Day 1:
9 a.m. Golf at one of Heber Valley’s five championship 18-hole golf courses. See provided listings.
Lunch Stay on the course for lunch. Wasatch Mountain Café, Soldier Hollow Grill or Homestead’s Fanny’s Grill offer breakfast, lunch and dinners.
4 p.m. Soak at the Homestead Crater: This one-of-a-kind hot springs pool is 60 feet of 92 degrees Fahrenheit mineral water located in a naturally formed crater.
7 p.m. Enjoy dinner at the Blue Boar Inn & Restaurant; a AAA Four Diamond restaurant and lodging property. Wine Spectator’s Award for Excellence recipient from 2004 to 2008.
Day 2:
8 a.m. Guided fly fishing on the Provo River, a Blue Ribbon trout river. (Fly fishing can be arranged for half days or full days.)
Lunch Experience dining in Heber City’s oldest building. Once a saloon where women weren’t allowed through the doors until the 1960s, now the Spicy Lady serves an eclectic menu of favorite international comfort foods.
4 p.m. Golf nine holes at Wasatch Mountain State Park’s Lake Course. Besides sinking that putt for a birdie, you can glimpse deer, elk or wild turkeys crossing the fairways or grazing along the rough.
7:30 p.m. Dine at Spin Café for mouthwatering barbeque. The Spin was named Best New Restaurant in 2008 by Salt Lake magazine.

Golf, Golf, Golf!
Play 3 Award-Winning Courses in 2 Days
Day 1:
8 a.m. Play 18 holes on Wasatch Mountain State Park’s Mountain Course. This is the best of mountain golf. Players are required to play 18 holes and take a cart. It isn’t uncommon to view deer, elk or wild turkeys on the course. The course was named a Golf Digest "Best Place to Play" in 2004.
Lunch The Wasatch Mountain Café offers traditional American fare. Don’t leave without trying their homemade fries.
3 p.m. Soak at the Homestead Crater: This one-of-a-kind hot springs pool is 60 feet of 92 degrees Fahrenheit mineral water located in a naturally formed crater.
7 p.m. Dine at the charming Snake Creek Grill. Award-winning Chef Dean Hottle continues to build on the reputation established former owner Barb Hill. Snake Creek Grill is the winner of Salt Lake magazine’s 2004 Best Restaurant award for the Wasatch Back/Summit County and is a consistent winner of City Search’s Best Comfort Food award (2004-2006) and Audience Winner for Comfort Food & Deserts (2004-2006).
Day 2:
9 a.m. Play 9 holes at Soldier Hollow, a links styled course. Designed by Gene Bates the coarse features native Utah vegetation, one of the longest courses in the state and the originality of being the only golf course built on an Olympic venue.
Lunch The Soldier Hollow Grill offers traditional American fare with a priceless view of the Heber Valley.
1 p.m. Play 9 holes at the Homestead Resort Golf Course. Built in 1990, the Homestead Resort is the only Utah resort with an on-property, 18-hole championship golf course. This beautiful mountain course boasts Northern Utah’s only GPS Yardage System. Its par-72 course winds through the surrounding Snake Creek Valley and Wasatch Mountains.
4 p.m. Unwind with a 60-minute massage at the Homestead’s spa. Located in the historic Virginia House, this elegant spa offers a variety of treatments.
7 p.m. Enjoy dinner at the Blue Boar Inn & Restaurant; a AAA Four Diamond restaurant and lodging property. Wine Spectator’s Award for Excellence recipient from 2004 to 2008
Shake & Bake
Riding & Boating
Day 1:
8 a.m. Saddle up for a guided horseback ride into the Wasatch Mountains. Your trip will take you to Stewart Falls or to the Crows Nest overlooking Deer Creek Reservoir. Talented wranglers will entertain by storytelling and give a history of the area.
10 a.m. Visit Cascade Springs, a short, seven-mile drive up into the Wasatch Mountains brings you to a mountain spring that gushes out seven million gallons of water a day. Meander along the two-mile interpretive boardwalk in shade.
Lunch Tarahumara was named the best Mexican restaurant in 2008 by Salt Lake City magazine. This casual Midway cantina delivers an original twist on traditional recipes under the watchful eye of owner Gloria Grass.
1 p.m. Prepare to spend a day at the Deer Creek State Park of Jordanelle State Park baking in the sun and boating. Try wake boarding, water skiing, or ride a wave runner! Better yet, rent a pontoon boat for group fun or simply relax in the sand! Whatever your choice, bring plenty of sunscreen!

Day 2:
8 a.m. Saddle up for a high flying adventure in a helicopter, airplane, hot air balloon or glider! Tour Heber Valley, the Wasatch and Uintah Mountains from the sky.*
10 a.m. Throw your leg over a motorized, “four-legged bronco.” Explore the Wasatch Mountains on the back of a powerful ATV. Helmets and guides provided.
Lunch Fanny’s Grill at the Homestead Resort offers patio dining by the golf course and warm water duck pond. The grounds are exquisitely landscaped and are reminiscent of a more elegant era. Don’t leave the Homestead without trying their famous homemade fudge!
2 p.m. Back to the water! This time to the Provo River for some raucous river rafting. Hats, sunscreen and sunglasses are an absolute must have!
7 p.m. Round up this amazing two-day adventure with a Chuck Wagon dinner. Feast on Dutch oven cooking around a campfire.
Wildlife Site Seeing Outing
September Only
Day 1:
5 a.m. Rise early for the opportunity to see elk and deer in their natural habitats. You’ll thrill to the sound of elk bugling! This guided trip is made by horseback into the Wasatch Mountains. Bring binoculars.
Breakfast Nothing is better than a campfire breakfast if you’ve been up before dawn. Fill up on Dutch oven pancakes and cowboy coffee.
11 a.m. Drive to Strawberry Basin to watch the Kokannee salmon swim upstream to spawn. The Strawberry Visitor Center is located 15 miles southeast of Heber City. Access the boardwalk from the parking lot. You’ll end up at the fish hatchery. Bring binoculars for bird watching.
Lunch Daniels Summit Lodge’s Lodge Pole Grill offers a Western menu that will make your mouth water.
3 p.m. (Optional )Hike a 3.7 mile loop that takes you on to Forest Service land, loops around the Lodge Pole campground and then back to Daniels Summit Lodge.

Day 2:
9 a.m. Guided nature walk at Rock Cliff Nature Preserve. This nature center is part of Jordanelle State Park. Its ecosystem is fed by the Upper Provo River. Bring binoculars.
Lunch Jordanelle Marina’s Lakeside Grill offers a variety of burgers and sandwiches. Watch the boats dock from your lakeside vantage point.
1 p.m. Boat ride on Jordanelle Reservoir. Life jackets provided.

Heber Valley Heritage & Nature Tour
April-October
Day 1:
11 a.m. Ride the Provo Canyon Limited, an excursion down scenic Provo Canyon on the historic Heber Valley Railroad. The slow moving train allows plenty of time to scope wildlife from its outdoor coaches as it ambles along the shoreline of Deer Creek Reservoir then down the canyon to Vivian Park. Lunch can be purchased on the train.
3 p.m. Stop in at Spin Café for Italian Gelato; Corner Sweet Treats for homemade ice cream, or the Dairy Keen or Granny’s for milkshakes.
4:30 p.m. Nature walk at Wasatch Mountain State Park. Take an easy walk around WMSP’s Huber Grove, one of the oldest remaining pioneer homesteads in Heber Valley. While there, visit the grove’s 100-year-old apple orchard.
7:30 p.m. Dine at the Homestead’s Simon’s Restaurant or Fanny’s Grill. The Homestead was established in the late 1880s. Its Virginia House is on the National Historic Register. The grounds are exquisitely landscaped and are reminiscent of a more elegant era. Don’t leave the Homestead without trying their famous homemade fudge!
Day 2:
9 a.m. Take a farm tour of the Kohler Dairy. This is one of the county’s oldest and still working dairies.
11 a.m. Take a wagon ride along the historic streets of downtown Midway. This charming turn of the century town was built by Europeans who’d immigrated with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons).

11 a.m. Ride bikes or scooters and explore the quaint town of Midway. This charming turn of the century town was built by Europeans who’d immigrated with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons).
Lunch The Café Galleria serves oven-baked Italian pizza. Eat inside or on the patio under the shade of 100-year-old –trees. This historic home once belonged to Darwin and Thora Schear, who migrated from Germany.
3 p.m. Soak at the Homestead Crater: This one-of-a-kind hot springs pool is 60 feet of 92 degrees Fahrenheit mineral water located in a naturally formed crater.
6:30 p.m. Ride the Heber Valley Railroad’s Sunset BBQ Special. This romantic, slow train ride through Provo Canyon offers an opportunity to snuggle up and watch the twilight settle over the valley. You’ll stop for a barbeque dinner and be entertained by bluegrass musicians.
Lodge Heber Valley has three exquisite Bed and Breakfast inns; The Blue Boar Inn & Restaurant, Johnson’s Mill, and the Invited Inn. Each inn is romantic beyond belief. Every room includes jetted tubs, steam showers and fireplaces.
Day 2:

2 p.m. Visit the Olympic Park & Alf Engen Ski History Museum and the 2002 Eccles Winter Olympic Museum in Park City.

10 a.m. Biathlon Experience at Soldier Hollow. Find out what you are made of … Cross Country ski a couple of miles then attempt to target shoot. Not as easy as it sounds but completely engaging.
Lunch Walk across the street to the Soldier Hollow Grill for traditional American food at its best. The Grill is located in the Soldier Hollow Golf club house. The 36-hole course was built in 2004. The view of the Heber Valley is priceless.
3 p.m. Take a sleigh ride on the grounds of the historic Homestead Resort. The resort was established in the late 1880s. You’ll feel like you’ve wandered into a winter wonderland.

Winter Wonderland
Day 1:
9 a.m. Cross Country ski at Soldier Hollow, the 2002 Winter Olympic venue for Nordic competitions. At Soldier Hollow you will ski in the tracks of legends.
11 a.m. Ride the historic Heber Valley Railroad’s Provo Canyon Limited. Lunch can be purchased on the train. The train meanders down the scenic Provo Canyon alongside U.S. Hwy. 189, designated a scenic byway.
4 p.m. Soak at the Homestead Crater: This one-of-a-kind hot springs pool is 60 feet of 92 degrees Fahrenheit mineral water located in a naturally formed crater.

Day 2:
10 a.m. Snowmobiling at Strawberry Basin. You will traverse Uinta Forest Service public lands. There are thousands of miles of snowmobile trails here. Because the elevation is over 8,000 feet, it is possible to snowmobile clear into May.
Lunch The rustic Strawberry Lodge serves traditional American fare.
3 p.m. Go tubing! Have more fun in the snow without exerting a lot of energy. Soldier Hollow has one of the longest tubing lanes in Utah.
