Here are few things to get your creative juices going this summer. Be sure to check back frequently on our website for other summer events and activities.
Now in its second year, Play Unplugged officially kicked off the summer season over Memorial Day. The Unplugged program was created to encourage kids from preschool to high school to “unplug” from electronics and media by finding other things to do with their time. 101 different summer time activities have been created ranging from washing your car, to taking a hike, to giving up all screen time (TV, movies, video games, and smart devices) for a whole week.
Kids who participate in the Unplugged program can earn points by collecting brag badges from each activity they complete. They can enter their points into a drawing for a weekly cash prize of $100 and a $500 grand prize at the end of the summer.
Besides the cash prize drawing, one of the best things about the Unplugged program is the many free activities. All the information about collecting badges and a list of activities can be found online at weplayunplugged.com.
