Economic Summit and Golf Tournament                                    Tuesday, September 15, 2009

The third annual “what's IN OUT back!” economic summit featured a fast paced, informative, and concise five hour program designed to highlight new and existing organizations, issues, and opportunities that are shaping the economy of the "Wasatch Back". The economic summit was held on Tuesday, September 15th at The Lodge at Stillwater and the golf tournament followed that afternoon at Talisker Golf at Tuhaye. The 2009 summit focused on how to maximize opportunities from the coming business expansion.

Our opening keynote speaker was Dr. L. Scott Kimball – President and Founder of The Growth Principles Company who spoke on “Change is Inevitable. Growth is Optional.” Our lunch keynote speaker was Derek Miller, Managing Director of Recruitment and Incentives at the Governor’s Office of Economic Development who spoke on “Growing Utah Jobs”.

Besides the two keynote speakers we listened to Fast Track presentations from 12 local businesses, and participated in a Topic Café session where participants chose 3 table discussions to learn from industry experts and share best practices on blending marketing and technology, business financial finesse, building human capital, and bridging generational gaps. After lunch, attendees who chose to tee-up will participated in a classic, four-man scramble golf tournament at the immaculate and exclusive Tuhaye Golf Club.
