Business Spotlight

Bad Dog Computing is featured for this week’s business spotlight. Owner and operator, Bryan Bresnan is often asked how he decided on the name. He first came up with a slogan to explain his core business model, “Computer Misbehaving, We Can Help!”, then he needed a name to fit.

The most most common service they perform is their System Optimization.  Bad Dog Computing will make your computer behave for a flat labor fee of $89. This can be virus removal, operating system upgrade, motherboard replacement, or any combination of problems. It’s simple, it’s $89 for labor to get your computer to run faster.

Bad Dog Computing fixes a lot of computers, but they also sell used, refurbished and custom built computers. They will setup up your new computer, transfer your old files, and make sure you are comfortable with the latest Operating System, all for $89.

Bryan’s favorite part of running a business is helping his customers. Bryan also wants to give back to the entire Heber Valley. He has done this in many ways, but one way is to run a free public Hotspot network called BadDogHotspot. His goal is to make visiting downtown Heber City more convenient and desirable. During the past year over $15,000 of FREE data has been transferred over this network by over 1,000 monthly users. You can find BadDogHotspot in the Heber Creeper Train Station, Days Market, The Bowling Alley, and Betos Mexican Food. There are also outdoor access point on the H&R Block building at 100 South Main, the Clock Tower Buidling at 150 North Main St, and Days Market. Bryan is always looking for more locations to install hotspots. He is also seeking sponsors to help offset some of the cost for this service so he can expand coverage and increase speeds.

Bad Dog Computing also runs a small Fixed Wireless ISP. They offer custom solutions for entire buildings, redundant internet options, and primary internet connections for home and business users.

Bryan is also pleased to announce several new services. Bad Dog Computing is now an authorized T-Mobile, GoSmart (Economy T-Mobile wireless), CenturyLink, Vonage, DiskNetwork, and 8X8 dealer. These services are available through online sales, but for the same price you can deal with a local person you can trust. We also have liaisons to these companies to help resolve problems quickly.
