Golf in Utah is hands down amazing. From Logan to St. George and from Wendover to Vernal Utah boasts a wide variety of public and private courses. What most people may not know is Utah has the highest percentage of public golf in the nation. So not only do Utah courses offer a great variety for every skill level, and the most beautiful scenery in the sport, but it is much more affordable in Utah.
In this golf friendly state, Heber Valley golf stands as the brightest gem in mountain golf with 90 holes of public play, two courses on Golf Week’s Best Courses in Utah, the host site for the nation’s longest running golf tournament, and the home of the only true hotel and golf resort in the state.
Golf Heber Valley is also unique in that only four courses in all of Utah are participating in the PGA’s Junior League, and they all happen to be here in Wasatch County. Crater Springs, Soldier Hollow, Wasatch Mountain and Red Ledges have all signed up to host junior golf league teams.
The program is similar to the idea of little league baseball in which golf teams of 10 - 11 are created at each course and compete with other kids on different teams over five or six holes. Just like little league too, there will be coaches and instruction for the kids. As much as it is a competition it is more about getting kids excited for the game.
