If it’s not there create it

When Vanessa Kibble and her husband Ashley moved to the Heber Valley from Park City in 2014 her friends teased her saying she’d be back in six months. Well, as most people do when the move to the valley, they fell in love.

Soon after planting roots here, Kibble thought it would be nice to have a casual dining experience here in the valley where they could get good food and a drink instead of going all the way to Park City. The stars aligned when the old Side Track Café went up for sale, Kibble and friend knew if they wanted to create that casual dining experience in Heber this was their opportunity.

Inspiration

The old café needed some tender, loving, care, or more accurately, some major work especially if it was going to match the vision Kibble had for the restaurant. She knew she wanted the restaurant to be a place that was comfortable and casual, yet offered delicious, locally sourced food. Inspiration for such a dining experience came from her travels abroad across Great Britain and France. Designed after some of the great gastro pubs and bistros in Europe, Main Street Social offers New Aged American comfort style food in a cozy atmosphere with wine and spirits to match the delicious food.

Vanessa’s resume’

For the past 10 years Vanessa has been learning from some of the best chefs in the Park City area, bringing a talented resume to Heber Valley.  She spent time honing her craft from chefs at the St. Regis, High West Distillery, and Handle restaurant. From those experiences she has created delightful dishes like a patty melt made with juicy bison and thick cut bacon, and even a devilishly indulgent carrozza. Think grilled cheese sandwich but deep fried.

Putting the Social in Main Street Social

One thing most notice when they enter Main Street Social is the cozy spaces. Made from a pioneer era home space is at a premium. However, just like a home is intended to be a place where family members connect and socialize with each other, so it is with Main Street Social’s guests. The smaller dining area and bar area encourages socializing on with another. Come summer time the gem of the restaurant will open up with outdoor seating, live music and an outdoor bar and grill. Imagine dining under the shade of talk trees on a warm summer evening, listen to live music while sipping on your favorite mixed drink. It really puts the social in Main Street Social.
