Mayflower Mountain Resort

The Mayflower Mountain Resort will be North America’s newest world-class alpine village to be developed since 1981. This Extell development is located within a MIDA Project Area and is located in northern Wasatch County, Utah, next to the esteemed Deer Valley Resort.

The Village will include ski infrastructure with up to five new ski lifts allowing skiers and mountain bikers access to extensive terrain, both summer and winter, while overlooking the stunning Jordanelle Reservoir.

This reimagined resort village concept will feature three new luxury and lifestyle-branded hotels, and more than 1,000 private residences ranging from estate lots to luxury condominiums. The development will also include a walkable commercial zone that is, in overall length, comparable to Park City’s Historic Main Street. Lifts, runs, snowmaking infrastructure, and initial lodging buildings are currently being designed and constructed, with the first lifts expected to be operational by the 2023-24 ski season. The new resort will add over 1,000 new skiable acres to the area. (All photos shown are renderings only.)

Some interesting project details:

  • 6,000 total resort acres
  • The steepest run will be 2,850 vertical feet and 5 miles long (the longest ski run in Utah)
  • Two decade project to complete
  • 1,200 day skier parking spots at full build out
  • 19 lifts at full build out
  • 17 units of first apartment building are for employee affordable housing
  • ~11 miles of hiking and biking summer trails connect to the Summit County trail system (with plans to connect to the Wasatch County trail system too)
  • Plan to open trails for use by summer 2023
  • Over 350 acres of clearing complete with 200+ acres to go
  • 300M gallons of non-culinary water will be needed annually, which is only 1/3 of 1% (294,685M water acres) of water coming from Jordanelle Reservoir in a season
  • Snowmaking engineering by Snowmatic and planning to build a water reservoir at the top of the mountain to supply gravity-fed snowmaking (winter) and wildfire mitigation (summer) as well as ease needs from Jordanelle Reservoir (JSSD)
  • An estimated 80% of water for snowmaking will return into Jordanelle Reservoir
