Spring Break in Heber Valley

More Open Space & Fewer Visitors

The beautiful Heber Valley is an ideal destination in the spring. As the seasons are changing and temps are warming up, visitors enjoy sunny days outdoors with the remaining winter snow. Lather on the sunblock, grab those shades, and let us share some springtime activity recommendations that will make you want to book that March or April trip today. Check out the pre-built itineraries too!

Beach Time

We’re talking the ski beach! Spend the morning on the slopes and the afternoons enjoying après-ski on outdoor patios and groomed ski beach areas. Spring ski conditions can be warm and fun. The snow is best in the mornings and midday. As the temperatures climb throughout the day, the snow conditions soften in the afternoon. If you ski hard in the first part of the day, give those legs, ankles, and feet a break and turn to another fun activity that we also love dearly – après-ski time.

Both Deer Valley Resort and Sundance Mountain Resort offer world-class downhill skiing and are less than 25 minutes from the valley. The Jordanelle Gondola at Deer Valley is only 10 minutes away! Be on the slopes easily by 9am, then head to Snow Park Lodge or Silver Lake Lodge at Deer Valley or the Owl Bar at Sundance Resort for some libations and flavorful bites from the menu. Live music is almost always happening during the afternoon too. And be sure to plan a stop at Soldier Hollow Nordic Center, an Olympic year-round venue. This world-renowned training facility has perfectly groomed trails for Nordic skiing and biathlon, as well as Utah's longest snow tubing lanes. Or head back to the valley for food, drinks, and local tunes at any number of our area restaurants and bars. Check out the nightlife in Heber Valley.

Ooh, La La

We bring health and wellness to the forefront for visitors looking to unwind, relax, and reconnect. With numerous spas and wellness services throughout town, Heber Valley offers some unique ways to treat yourself on your next stay.

The Utah Crater – Book your time slot to soak in the mineral-rich, warm waters at the Utah Crater. This 10,000-year-old geothermal hot spring sits roughly 55 feet below a limestone hilltop. The therapeutic water temperature stays about 95 degrees F all year long and invites guests to swim and rejuvenate their bodies. Those looking for something even more special can book a morning stand up paddle board yoga session atop the heated water. This hot spring is the only warm-water scuba certification destination in the lower 48 states. Guests who book an afternoon swim, soak, or snorkel experience may be joined by scuba enthusiasts diving to the 65-foot depth of the crater floor.

Yoga Adventures - Try something truly unique. Park City Yoga Adventures offers a variety of health and wellness experiences that you likely haven't experienced elsewhere. SUP yoga in a 10,000-year-old geothermal hot spring crater... or hike and meditate in suspended silks among the quaking Aspen trees... and how about a snowshoe trek through the forested mountain area to a warm and welcoming yurt for yoga by candlelight? Just some of the offerings this great guide and outfitter provides right here in Heber Valley.

Spa For Two – Bring a friend, family member, or significant other to make your spa time a little more memorable. Choose from popular treatments such as a couple’s massage or book a half-day or even a full-day spa experience. You only live once. So, why not splurge on yourself from time to time? Your body will thank you! The Zermatt Spa has some excellent spa packages that may pique your interest.

Salt Room Treatments – Experience the benefits of salt. At Mountain Elite Massage, guests can book a salt room therapy treatment. Known for helping ease respiratory issues, the dry salt therapy can be booked solo or as an add on to a signature spa treatment at this local business.

Infrared Treatments – Similar to the healing powers of salt therapy, infrared light treatments have been proven to reduce inflammation and pain, lower blood pressure, promote detoxification, improve moods, and strengthen the immune system. At the local Blue Sun Tanning & Spa, guests can combine an infrared sauna treatment with Red Light therapy, along with the guided meditation services offered, for an alternative wellness approach.

Cast A Line

Whether you’re into fly fishing or casting a reel from the bank, there’s plenty of water – lake or river – to explore and fish along. With three state parks and three reservoirs, not to mention the 15-plus miles of prime Blue-Ribbon stream access throughout the mountain town, Heber Valley is a fishing paradise for brown trout and rainbow trout, largemouth and smallmouth bass, walleye, and yellow perch – just to name a few. We suggest you pick a local guide for this excursion to maximize your experience and ensure a successful day of fishing. Many local guides have years of experience and a passion to share this bountiful beauty with visitors.

Additional Spring Activities To Consider

Want More? Then You Need To Be Here!

Spring season is a quieter time for the Wasatch Back, which makes it the perfect time to visit if you are searching for expansive beauty and solitude. The arrival of spring brings renewal to the valley and fresh blooms throughout the rolling hillsides, along with warmer temps. Activities range from winter recreation to spring and even summer options, depending on the weather. Peruse the diverse lodging and book that perfect spring stay in the majestic Heber Valley.
