Things to Do

It sure is hot out there and supposed to only get hotter through the weekend. Luckily there’s plenty to do in the Heber Valley to help you beat the heat— from boating to tree-filled parks to mountain getaways and of course plenty of ice cream options.

If you’re looking for shakes then you couldn’t do any better than Heber Valley.  Choose your favorite or visit all three (we promise we won’t tell anyone!).

Dairy Keen
Voted Best of State many times (most recently in 2015) their shakes do not disappoint. Don’t believe the voters? Try one of their classic shakes, like Oreo or Rocky Road for yourself. If “classic” isn’t for you, then create your own concoction by mixing your favorite mix ins for something completely new.

Open only for a few months out of the year, Granny’s has a loyal following who eagerly wait every spring for the open sign to go up in the widow of the house-turned-restaurant. Be sure to try the brownie bits shake—creamy vanilla ice cream with large chunks of soft and gooey chocolatey brownie goodness.

If you’re looking for something a little fancier than shakes, but just as cool, check out these Heber Valley restaurants that offer some premium options.

Backerie & Eis at the Zermatt Resort is a European-style café serving coffee, pastries and light lunch fare in addition to gelato. Grab your delicious cold treat and soak in the European atmosphere.

Spin Café makes their gelato fresh every morning right on the premises, from scratch. You’ll be hooked with just one taste! You really can’t go wrong with any of their offerings.

The Fill’er Up Coffee Station offers the most unique setting of any of these restaurants. Located in a 1930s renovated gas station on Main Street in Midway, it’s decorated with antique signage, pedal cars and vintage furnishings. Feast your eyes and your mouth as you get a scoop (or three) of their famous premium ice cream.

Regardless of which you choose (or how many), we’ll keep you cool this summer in Heber Valley.
