Heber Valley Artiscape

Create your summer longe escape into the arts in the beautiful Heber Valley! Throughout the summer months local visual and performing artists will put on displays, events, trainings, and shows. Beginning in June and running through October, the Heber Valley Artiscape is a time to enjoy our rich cultural heritage of the arts. 

Over the next serveral months you can enjoy over 114 arts events from an open air concerts at the Homestead Resort, to take in a show under the stars with High Valley Arts, to learning to paint with Midway Art Association, to enjoying the western way of life with Heber Valley Western Music and Cowboy Poetry Gathering

Air Force Museum – Heber Airport

    Let your imagination take flight with a visit to the Air Force Museum; displays and living history. Experience the past history or participate in a swing dance!

Heber Valley Railroad – Heber City

     Take a trip back in time with a roundtrip ride through scenic Provo Canyon in an antique train. Specialty themed trains run throughout the summer including June’s Summer Solstice Train and a Divine Train:  June 21, 30

Zermatt Concert Series – Zermatt Resort – Midway

     Save Friday nights for an evening in an old world setting that features new world music. An annual tradition, this Friday night series is the perfect choice to kick-off the weekend. Concerts in June start June 16 with Michael Martin Murphy. June 16,17 & 30

12th Annual Wasatch Plein Air Paradise 2017 – Midway Town Hall

     Utah’s largest plein air competition starts Jun e 24-30 as artists painting throughout the Heber Valley. A variety of activities including a “paint out” and “quick draw competition take place. Over 125 artists create as many as 500 new paintings. Town Hall Dates: July 1, 3 and 4th.

Annie Get Your Gun – Midway

      Rent a chair or bring your own plus a picnic supper and spend the evening with your family or a special group. Be prepared to enjoy a classic feel-good musical performed outdoors by High Valley Arts. The setting sun over the Timpanogos provides the perfect backdrop to enjoy a 7:15 pre-show of live music. Performances: July 1 – 15 at 8:15. No performances Tuesdays or Sundays.

Small Town 4th – Midway Town Square

     Voted the best small town in Utah, Midway comes alive celebrating the All-American holiday. Join the community for our annual tour of historic homes, a concert by the High Valley Singers, the Swiss Belles chorus and plus enjoy a pancake breakfast on the 4th at the Town Square. July 4th.

Mountain Valley Photographer Exhibit – Community Center Midway

     As an exciting compliment to a weekend of art in the Heber Valley, the Mountain Valley Photographers showcase their creative work.  Learn the stories behind the photos on-site. Whether portrait, landscape, wildlife or action that meets your interest, this exhibit is sure to please your tastes.   July 3-4

Wasatch Mountain Square - Midway Town Hall, Midway Utah

     Your dancin’ shoes and a smile are all you need to have a good time with the Wasatch Mountain Square Dancers. Be prepared for a workout as the music takes you back in time. Did you know square dances were first documented in 16th century England?  July 14

Heber Valley Railroad – Heber City

     Take a trip back in time with a roundtrip ride through scenic Provo Canyon in an antique train. Specialty themed trains run throughout the summer. Train rides abound on the railroad with a Masquerade Train, a special BBQ train, a Rock’n’Roll Train as well as Fiddles and Fireworks.  For your enjoyment, the HVRR runs regularly scheduled pleasure trip daily. July: 7, 21, 24 and 28

Wasatch Mountain Music Festival -   Soldier Hollow   Charleston

     Formerly the Wallsburg Music Festival, the event celebrates its fourth year at a new location. If you’re a fan of country music or bluegrass, this three day event features local bands and community goodness to our valley. July 14-16.

Fire on the Water -   Jordanelle State Park – Route 40 East

     The waters of the Jordanelle explode with color as nearly 150 gaily decorated and illuminated watercraft glide by, creating images of Venice. The evening becomes even more colorful as fireworks light up the sky and are reflected in the water. A truly magnificent evening. July 15.

The Taming of the Shrew – Timpanogos Valley Theatre 

     A production of this classic Shakespeare comedy is given a new twist as it is the product of a summer camp attended by young adults. Attend a performance and see how a new generation interprets a work over 425 years old.   July 21-22.

     What would the Heber Valley be without the Wasatch County Fair? Warm nights, cold drinks; seeing old friends and meeting new ones as you watch the most popular events. Zermatt Concert Series – Zermatt Resort – Midway

Swiss Days – Midway

     Midway showcases its best in this two-day festival that has become known throughout the state. Over 180 booths full of handmade items, antiques, fine art and great Swiss food are a few of the offerings. Between 80,000 to 100,000 descend to relish this tradition started in the 1940s. The days include a 10k race, parade and performances by local music and concert groups. Sept 1 and 2.

Cowboy Poetry – Wasatch High School and additional venues

     This five day event is a combination of professional country musicians, entertaining storytellers, poets and a wide array of vendors selling everything from the perfect pair of boots to mouth-watering goodies. But it is the array and quality of talent that peppers the event on a non-stop basis. It should be on everyone’s “must see” and “must do” list. October 26-30.

Heber Valley Orchestra – Wasatch High School, Heber City

The valley’s best musicians are at it for a second time, playing onstage with Riders in the Sky at Heber’s Cowboy Poetry. The 2016 pairing received critical acclaim and showcasing the HVOs talented musicians’ ability to play classical to cowboy.  October 26. 7PM
