Haunted Finds & Spooky Experiences

Although many of the "you pick" pumpkin patches are done for the season, there are still plenty of pumpkins to choose from at the local stores throughout town.

Mortuary Haunted House: Yes, that's right. A haunted house experience inside Heber Valley Funeral Home!  What is lurking in the basement of the Mortuary? Come and see, if you dare! Tickets are $15 adults and $10 kids, for sale at the door. This event is for ages 12 and up. All proceeds go to benefit Charitable Acts Theatre. Location: Heber Valley Funeral Home, 288 North Main Street, Heber City, UT 84032

Haunted Escape Room: Can you take the pressure and find your way out?? See if you have what it takes in Heber's first and only haunted escape room at Black Star Escape Co. If that's too creepy for you, then try your hand at any of the upcoming paint night events. Location: 2 South Main Street, Heber City, UT 84032

Fall Festival & Haunted Hayrides: This year, Heber Valley Artisan Milk & Cheese is hosting a month-long Fall Festival event with a hay maze, big kid slides, corn pit, kid's trampoline, and more. Plus, back this year, explore the spooky haunted hayride and hay maze at night. Daily dairy farm tours are also being offered Monday through Saturday at 11:00 am (advance ticket purchase required). Ghost Tours: Bundle up for a spooky walk through historic neighborhoods to check out the haunted spaces and hear creepy stories of ghostly sightings. Happening October 27th from 7:00 to 8:00 pm. Location: Starts and ends at Timpanogos Valley Theatre, 90 North 100 West, Heber City, UT 84032

Monster Movie Marathon: Experience some classic spooky flicks during these two dates with back-to-back featured films. October 24th and 25th at various times. Location: The Avon Theater, 94 South Main Street, Heber City, UT 84032

Spooky Train Rides

All aboard the Heber Valley Railroad for lots of festive fun! On the Halloween Train you will be greeted and entertained by the Hocus Pocus Sanderson Sisters as they pass through the train cars mesmerizing riders with song and dance. But beware of the monsters and zombies who quickly find their way on board and roam the train looking for their next victims, only to be distracted when their favorite song comes on and they bust out their signature dance moves. Of course, costumes are highly encouraged, as is dancing and singing along to all of the popular Halloween songs. This train runs every Monday, Thursday, and Friday in October. For the younger kids, there is the beloved Pumpkin Train where riders enjoy kid-friendly entertainment on the train while eating delicious pumpkin cookies. Then pick a pumpkin from the onsite patch to take home with you. This train runs Saturdays through October. Advance tickets highly recommended!

Ghoulish Treats

Our local confectioners have cooked up some delightful treats this Halloween season. Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and Cafe offers an array of special holiday treats fun truffle flavors to delectable fudge selections to a broad assortment of decadent caramel apple options.  Location: 206 W Main Street, #B, Midway, UT 84049

The beloved Dairy Keen serves up a variety of seasonal special shakes, including Pumpkin Pie, Pumpkin Latte, Pumpkin Cheesecake, Pumpkin Oreo, and Pumpkin Chocolate Chip! Location: 199 S Main Street, Heber City, UT 84032

And Granny's Drive In serves up some unique shake flavor combinations. Location: 511 S Main Street, Heber City, UT 84032

Quench It Soda has a special drink of the month amid its robust menu offerings, and it sells the popular and locally made Suss Cookies onsite too. Try the "Witches Brew" special drink this month. Location: 760 S Main Street, Heber City, UT 84032

The local Lee’s Marketplace is loved by all for its delicious donuts and flavorful popcorn treats. This month, it is featuring a pumpkin spice donut along with its regular donut assortment as well as pumpkin spice bread and pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. And the local coffee shops are serving up just about anything in a pumpkin flavor as well. So stop by any of these wonderful local shops for a sweet treat, ghoulish bite, or savory sip.
