ACTIVITIES & EVENTS –  An Outdoor Adventure Mecca

We are a four-season outdoor adventure escape. Summer provides access to hiking, biking, fishing, camping, golf, the historic Heber Valley Railroad, river rafting, and ziplining, just to name a few. And the weekly markets and outdoor concerts are a perfect activity for families and friends.

Fall sees the same activities, plus some great annual events like the Swiss Days Festival and the Western Music & Cowboy Poetry Festival, along with beautiful autumn foliage and cooler nighttime temps. Winter season offers snowshoeing, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, snow tubing, and ice fishing – along with one of the world’s most amazing Ice Castles experiences.

SPACE TO EXPLORE, PLAY & STRETCH OUT – Things to Do

Once you’re here, all the adventure activities are within minutes of each other. Heber Valley provides access to some of Mother Nature’s most beautiful spaces and places. As the gateway to much of the Wasatch Back mountain range, high Uinta Mountain range, and ample open land not accessible by vehicular traffic – you can spread out, get off the grid, and still be pampered to your liking.

Some suggestions and highlights:
  • 90 holes of golf at 5 public courses within 3 miles of each other
  • Home to 3 state parks: Deer Creek, Jordanelle, and Wasatch Mountain
  • 3 large recreational reservoirs: Deer Creek, Jordanelle, and Strawberry
  • Over 400 miles of trails for hiking, biking, running, ATV riding, and exploring
  • Historic Heber Valley Railroad train ride experience – consider riding a special themed train!

And in the winter, this summer paradise is covered with a blanket of pristine snow and the winter play begins! So if you can’t make it out this summer, consider the Heber Valley for your winter trip.

PERFECT WEATHER & TEMPS!

Considered a high-altitude desert state, the heat in Utah is very dry making it more comfortable for most visitors than a humid climate. Summer nights remain cool and comfortable. Due to this unique combination of desert landscape and elevation, Utah is known for having “The Greatest Snow on Earth” as the precipitation turns into a lighter snowfall and makes the snowpack softer and more ideal for ski conditions.

The warmest temperatures are in the months of July and August with
  • Warmest months: July and August
  • Average highs around 88 degrees F (31 degrees C) and average lows around 50 degrees F (10 degrees C)
  • Coldest month: January
  • Average high of 35 degrees F (2 degrees C) and an average low of 11 degrees F (-12 degrees C)
  • January receives the most snowfall: approximately 18 inches of total accumulation
