December 2022 Business of the Month: Heber Valley Brewing Company

We are proud to recognize Heber Valley Brewing Company in Heber City as the December 2022 Heber Valley Chamber Business of the Month award recipient. This local brewery opened in 2019 with two enthusiastic business partners who shared a dream of bringing quality craft beer and a place for locals to gather and grow friendships in Heber Valley.

We spoke with Clint Jones who shared some of his background and passion behind his dream. He began exploring with brewing processes in his early 20s. During this time, he worked with Olympic athletes as a ski jump coach in Park City, Utah, and in Canada for a little over a year. He traveled the world with USSSA and renowned athletes to train and coach at global competitions. During this time, Clint met Greg, his business partner at the brewery. Greg was also a coach and athlete – specializing and coaching the Nordic combined in Park City.

A little over a decade later, Clint and Greg decided it was time for a completely different kind of adventure. They decided to open a small-batch brewery as a gathering place within the Heber Valley community. They envisioned owning and operating a space that did more than just serve beer. And they’ve done just that with their quaint and welcoming brewery and tap room on the north end of Heber City Main Street. Offering up to eight beers of draft and as many canned options as possible, Clint and Greg (and their dedicated team) provide a wonderful ambience for locals and visitors to gather, enjoy locally-produced brews, support local eateries and food trucks, and make new connections with other patrons. It is recommended for guests to call ahead and find out which beers are available before they arrive.

The dining space serves pizza, Bavarian pretzels, charcuterie boards featuring Heber Valley Artisan Cheeses, and more. Local food trucks are often parked next to the brewery to offer additional tasty menu items. And the beloved Granny's Drive In just started offering food delivery to the brewery. A visit to Heber Valley Brewing Company supports many other area businesses! You can also find some of their canned beers at Midway Mercantile and The Lakehouse at Deer Creek.

Regulars to the brewery can join the “Mug Club” for a small annual fee which gets them a customized glass mug and logo swag. The Mug Club is so popular there is a waiting list for new inquiries. For those new to the brewery or even just introducing themselves to craft beers, the Cold Fusion Kolsch is a great local beer to start with. A local favorite is the Hazy IPA. And the brewery also offers limited release batches of specialty beers from time to time. This month, look for the Imperial Stout that has been aged in High West bourbon barrels. Heber Valley Brewing Co. is working with local chocolatier, Ritual Chocolate, to use the High West bourbon barrels for aging beer after Ritual Chocolate uses them for its signature “Bourbon Barrel Aged Chocolate Bar” – resulting in a rich and unique flavor in the beer. But hurry in for this one. It’s a limited release with only about 200 22oz. bottles complete with a fancy wax-sealed stopper. This also makes for a great gift idea!

Heber Valley Brewing Co. is actively involved in the community with contributions and donations to such worthy groups as the Wasatch Community Foundation, and the brewery has established a tent at the local Heber Market on Main (a recurring Thursday night community event during the summer months) for the purpose of further extending a welcoming community vibe at local events.

Stop in at our local brewery and say hello to Clint, Greg, and team! Pick a stool, belly up to the bar, or pick a table, and stay a while. All are welcome!
