For January 2026, the Heber Valley Chamber is proud to recognize Strategic Home Mortgage as Business of the Month. Jeremy Smith has called Heber Valley home for over ten years. After relocating from Draper, Jeremy and his family chose Heber Valley for its agricultural roots, outdoor lifestyle, and strong sense of community. These important values continue to shape both his personal life and his professional approach with clients and the community.

At Strategic Home Mortgage, Jeremy offers a full-service mortgage lending experience that serves clients across all stages of homeownership. From first-time homebuyers and refinancing to construction loans and complex real estate scenarios, Jeremy and his team focus on helping clients navigate important financial decisions with clarity and confidence.

While mortgage lending is Jeremy’s profession, real estate development has become his passion, and a meaningful extension of his commitment to Heber Valley. Drawing on years of experience in the financial industry and personal involvement in residential rental real estate, Jeremy recognized a growing need in the downtown core for affordable, high-quality space for local small businesses.

That vision came to life through the development of 5th and Main, a mixed-use commercial and residential building located in the heart of downtown Heber City. After acquiring property on Heber City Main Street, Jeremy partnered with local firm Lythgoe Design to create a building that would complement the character of downtown Heber City while meeting modern business and residential needs. 5th and Main represents Jeremy’s first commercial real estate project, and a significant investment in the future of downtown Heber.

Creating Opportunity for Small Businesses
Downtown Heber City has tremendous potential, but small businesses often face challenges related to cost, space availability, and location. Jeremy’s goal with Fifth and Main was to remove some of those barriers.

The new building features:

• Multiple levels of commercial space for retail and office use
• Third-floor office suites designed for professional services
• Four affordable residential apartment units, helping meet local housing needs

By offering new, well-designed, and more affordable lease options, 5th and Main allows small business owners to focus on what matters most, which includes serving customers, growing their businesses, and contributing to the local economy. This thoughtful approach to development directly supports entrepreneurship and helps maintain a vibrant, locally-supported downtown.

Jeremy’s willingness to reinvest locally and prioritize long-term community benefits over short-term gains is a key reason Strategic Home Mortgage and its owner stood out for this award.

Looking Ahead: Continued Growth with Community in Mind
Jeremy’s next project, The Lofts on 6th, is planned just off Heber City Main Street and west of McDonald’s. This upcoming development will feature second floor salon suites designed for beauty and wellness professionals, addressing a growing demand for flexible, professional spaces in the community.

With plans to break ground in spring 2026 and an estimated 12-month build timeline, The Lofts on 6th reflects the same guiding principles as Jeremy’s previous work: supporting local professionals, creating functional and affordable spaces, and strengthening the downtown corridor.

Rooted in Family and Community
Jeremy’s impact on Heber Valley extends well beyond business. He and his wife are raising four children here—one in college, two in high school, and one in eighth grade. The family is deeply engaged in the community, spending time outdoors, biking and running local trails, and caring for their horses.

Having participated in 4-H himself as a youth, Jeremy values the agricultural traditions that remain strong in Heber Valley and appreciates the community support that allows today’s youth to have similar opportunities. This connection to place and people informs Jeremy’s approach to leadership, business, and service.
