October 2025 Business of the Month: Mountain Elite Massage
The Heber Valley Chamber is proud to recognize Mountain Elite Massage and Sanctuary, owned by Crystal Joy, as the October Business of the Month. This recognition is more than a spotlight; it's a celebration of the vision, dedication, and heart behind a local business that exemplifies excellence, community connection, and genuine care.
Every month, the Chamber Advisory Board carefully reviews nominations to honor a business that not only succeeds in its field but also uplifts our valley through service, innovation, and community-minded values. The team at Mountain Elite Massage and Sanctuary embodies those ideals beautifully.
A Vision Rooted in Care
For Crystal, wellness has always been more than just a career path. At just five years old, she encountered a woman at church who struggled with stiffness and pain in her hand. She enjoyed spending time massaging her hand and helping her recover to a life with greater flexibility and use of her hand. That moment sparked a lifelong curiosity and compassion for healing. By age 13, Crystal was already assisting her aunt, a chiropractor, and learning the foundation of what would later become her life’s work.
Her professional journey has taken her from Santa Barbara County to Aspen and Vail, working with some of the world’s most elite individuals. But her philosophy has always been clear: everyone deserves the same elite level of care. That belief inspired the name of her business, Mountain Elite Massage and Sanctuary. It's a reminder that every person who walks through their doors is worthy of the highest-quality healing experience.
A Sanctuary for the Body, Mind, and Spirit
Mountain Elite Massage and Sanctuary is a massage studio as well as a holistic wellness destination. The range of services includes:
Massage therapy and couples treatments
Foot soaks, sauna, and a therapeutic salt room
Meditation, yoga, and weightless embrace yoga sessions
Chiropractic services, cupping, dry needling, lymphatic system therapy
Body treatments and aesthetics services
Each offering is designed to support healing, reduced stress, and deeper connections. The addition of the salt room has been especially meaningful. Salt therapy dates back to the 1900s and is known to help reduce negative impacts associated with asthma, eczema, anxiety, and other ailments. Crystal introduced this service after witnessing the widespread stress, depression, and anxiety brought on during the pandemic, offering the community a safe and restorative way to heal.
A Philosophy of Connection
Crystal often describes her team as her “soul family.” These highly qualified individuals are deeply caring, attentive, and genuine. This culture of compassion effects the way they treat their clients. The team offers a space filled with respect, empathy, and an unwavering belief that every person deserves to feel cared for.
Some view massage therapy as a luxury. But to Crystal and her team, it’s a necessity—a way to help people heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves and their loved ones. Even staff members regularly receive treatments, ensuring that by caring for themselves, they are better able to serve others.
“It’s not just business. It’s not just a paycheck,” Crystal explains. “It’s about connecting with others.”
Inspired by Nature and Designed for Peace
The sanctuary itself reflects Crystal’s love of nature and the Heber Valley lifestyle. The thoughtful space features curved walls to symbolize life’s flow, touches of greenery representing Mother Earth, gentle sounds of water to soothe the soul, and an ethereal, peaceful atmosphere in every corner of the sanctuary. Each detail is intentional, inviting guests to let go of negativity and feel truly present.
For first-time visitors, Crystal recommends beginning with a therapeutic foot soak and experiencing the salt room, while taking in the sounds and calming presence of the sanctuary. It’s a welcoming introduction to the diverse offerings available and an easy way to find comfort and connection that Mountain Elite provides.
Investing in Heber Valley
Crystal and her husband chose Heber Valley over other destinations like Park City because of the small-town feel and sense of community embraced here. While driving through Midway, Crystal knew immediately that this valley was the place she wanted to put down some roots and open her business.
That decision has blossomed into something much greater. Mountain Elite Massage and Sanctuary is now a hub of wellness, connection, and healing for the valley. Crystal has also experienced firsthand the value of being part of the Heber Valley Chamber, sharing that the Chamber provides "connectivity and genuine care for each other and other businesses...”
Looking ahead, Crystal is exploring opportunities to open a second location in Heber Valley, expanding her vision and bringing even more unique wellness offerings to our community.
Celebrating Excellence in Business
The Heber Valley Chamber Business of the Month recognition is about celebrating success and highlighting the people and businesses that contribute to making our valley stronger, healthier, and more connected.
Mountain Elite Massage and Sanctuary is a shining example of those values. Through their services, philosophy, and community spirit, Crystal and her team remind us all of the importance of caring for ourselves and one another.
We congratulate Crystal, her husband, and the entire Mountain Elite team on this well-deserved honor. Thank you for being a vital part of Heber Valley and for reminding us that wellness is not just a luxury—it’s a way of life.
