The mission of the Heber Valley Chamber is to “Unite, Connect, and Promote” local businesses. This past Tuesday, April 16th, we took the connection component literally when we invited our friends from the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) to the monthly Chamber Luncheon to share upcoming road projects happening in our valley. Two major projects will greatly affect and improve connections, access, safety, and traffic flow in Wasatch County: the Hwy-189 Expansion and the Heber Valley Corridor projects. Craig Hancock, Project Manager for our area, shared data, timelines, and the need for these projects now and over the next 25+ years. Our goal was to learn about the projects' statuses and how to be involved in the process for both. Though a timeline has not been established for the preferred bypass alignment, UDOT is actively moving forward on the Hwy-189 Expansion, with construction to begin in summer 2025. We want to thank Craig and his team for the information shared, and to all those who attended the meeting. UDOT has offered to share the presentation, and we will email the Chamber members when it becomes available.
Thank you to all of those who attended, listened, and asked meaningful and relevant questions. We look forward to continuing the dialogue in our community and working closely with UDOT as the projects progress.
Sincerely,
Dallin Koecher
