We often talk a lot about relationships in the chamber. February has been an exciting month for the chamber to help create meaningful relationships. Earlier this month, we launched our first ever, Donuts with the Director event. This meeting is a listening event for the staff and me as we listen to your thoughts, concerns, hopes, and aspirations while enjoying donuts, coffee, and juice. I, for one, look forward to our next event in April. Also, The Heber Senator B&B hosted a wonderful After Hours Mixer this month. Seeing new people connect and build new friendships at these events is always fun.
This past week we held our annual “State of the Valley,” in which we had Midway Mayor Celeste Johnson, Heber City Mayor Heidi Franco, and Wasatch County Council Member Mark Nelson speak to the chamber about what’s happening in the valley. The State of the Valley luncheon has become a great way to build relationships with our elected officials. All of these events help us in our mission to unite and connect local businesses. Creating relationships are critical in helping us find common ground, work through difficult situations, and learn from each other.
To get the most out of your chamber experience, I encourage you to take advantage of these many different opportunities to build lasting and meaningful relationships. The more connected we are, the more united we’ll be. The more united we are, there is nothing we can’t get through together.
