March 2026 Director's Letter

The power of compound interest is amazing. A single deposit may not feel significant on its own, but over time, through consistency, it begins to grow in ways that are hard to see at first and impossible to ignore later. Chamber participation follows that same principle. One lunch, one mixer, or one conversation might lead to a small connection, but repeated over weeks and months, those interactions build trust, familiarity, and real opportunity. That’s why when people ask how to get the most out of their Chamber membership, our answer is simple: participate consistently and let the results compound.

We’re already seeing that effect take hold so far this year. More than 325 people have attended our first four mixers, 160 attended our first two luncheons, 30 took part in Donuts with the Director in February, and we’ve welcomed 27 new members since the beginning of the year. Those aren’t just numbers. They represent hundreds of conversations, introductions, and relationships forming over time.

Like compound interest, the value builds steadily. And for those who continue to show up, the long-term return is a stronger network and a more connected business community. Over the next couple of months, we have two bigger events that are sure to generate compound interest.

First, is the fourth annual Ask Heber Valley Community Expo, presented by the Heber Valley Railroad, on Saturday, April 11th, at the Wasatch County Recreation Center. From 10 am to 3 pm, we will have over 70 local business vendors participating and sharing their goods and services with the greater community. This year, we are looking forward to having over 1,000 people attend the expo. This will be a great way to create lasting relationships with other businesses and the community by interacting with one another. Free tote bags will be available to the first 200 families. And free hot dogs and drinks will be available to all throughout the afternoon. More information about registration and participation can be found here: gohebervalley.com/ask-heber-valley-community-expo.

Next, is the Wasatch Back Economic Summit, presented by Zions Bank, on Monday, May 11th, at Grand Hyatt Deer Valley. This event is in partnership with the Park City Chamber and Visitors Bureau and as become a signature annual event for business and economic information, connections, and collaborations across the Wasatch Back. This year, there will be many topics about building a resilient business community and workforce development. You don’t want to miss this event. More info at gohebervalley.com/wasatch-back-economic-summit.

As you continue to participate and add more deposits into your relationships with Chamber members, the dividends will continue to yield amazing results. Let's continue to invest in one another and reap the rewards all year long.
