Ragnar Events Announces New Utah Trail Race in 2026

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (October 28, 2025) — Ragnar Events, the industry leader in team-based running, is excited to announce a brand-new event coming to Utah in 2026.  Ragnar Trail Soldier Hollow will take place at the renowned Soldier Hollow Nordic Center on August 28–29, 2026. This addition strengthens the spirit of Ragnar within its home state and expands Northern Utah’s already vibrant outdoor recreation scene.

At this one-of-a-kind new race, teams of eight will cover approximately 120 miles across three distinct loops winding through Soldier Hollow and Wasatch Mountain State Park. Participants will run through the day and night, camping in a pop-up tent city and enjoying activities in the Ragnar Village—all within the Soldier Hollow venue. Hundreds of teams are expected to take part.

“Over 20 years ago, Ragnar began right here in Utah with the iconic Wasatch Back race, and later, our most popular event, Ragnar Trail Zion, just outside of Zion National Park,” said Ragnar Race Director Paul Jesse. “Soldier Hollow, in the Heber Valley on the east side of the Wasatch Mountains, is celebrated for its breathtaking scenery and legacy as the host of Nordic events in the 2002 and upcoming 2034 Winter Olympics. The world-class trails at Soldier Hollow are perfectly suited for trail running.”

“Our participants will be amazed at the jaw-dropping views of Heber Valley, Mount Timpanogos, and Deer Creek Reservoir,” Jesse continued. “They’ll be running where Olympians have competed. Whether you’re new to Ragnar or a returning athlete, this course promises an unforgettable adventure and the camaraderie that makes Ragnar unlike anything else. We’re thrilled to bring Ragnar Trail Soldier Hollow to Northern Utah and look forward to making it a yearly tradition.”
