3. What is the story on how and why you started your business?

I've known New York Life since birth. I'm from South Louisiana and my dad was an agent with New York Life for 52 years, helping thousands in my small community secure their financial futures. I'm the youngest of 5 children, and out of the 5 of us I'm the one that is the most identical to my father. I have always been in the 'helping/healing' industry and last year decided I wanted a change in career. I knew I wanted to help people and have most definitely found my passion. Every day I help others in my community ranging from 3 days old to age 90 and I absolutely love what I do each day. For the first time in my working years, I actually love to go to work. It’s not work to me, it’s a passion that been instilled in my soul which has been uncovered and I'm grateful to walk in my father’s shoes.

4. Are you new to the Heber Valley (in the past 2 years)?

I have lived in the Heber area for the past year. Previously, I was in Park City for 9 years. I relocated to Park City at the end of 2008 to work as an Investigator with the Food and Drug Administration. The environmental side of my career ended due to wanting different for my life, and I took a position with Intermountain Healthcare running the front end of the Park City Live Well Center. Last March I decided it was time for a career change to help others and became an Agent with New York Life and am now licensed in 5 states. The outdoor life, wildlife and low humidity is what I enjoy most about Heber City and Utah. I've been a skier since the age of 7 and how it was a huge piece of why I moved here. I love that the weather is mostly nice all year round and there is always some outdoor activity to enjoy.
