UDOT (Utah Department of Transportation) released the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Heber Valley Corridor, an important step toward improving transportation for everyone in the area. This study looked at how we can improve regional and local mobility, reduce congestion, and create better options for walking and biking, all while respecting Heber City's vision for a vibrant, historic town center.
After studying multiple options, Alternative B has been identified as the preferred alternative. Alternative B creates a four-lane corridor on the west side of Heber City, providing a new connection between US-189 and south US-40, along with a dedicated 12-foot multi-use trail for people walking, biking, and rolling. A public comment period begins January 9 and runs through March 9. Comments can be submitted online, via email or mail, by phone, or in person at a public hearing. UDOT will be hosting several public hearings and we invite you to join us. This is a chance to ask questions, share your thoughts, and talk directly with the UDOT team.
