Dining Experiences in Heber Valley

Whether dining in a snow globe or a snowshoe trek to a yurt, or perhaps an intimate dinner overlooking the lake… Heber Valley has some exceptional dining experiences. And the service is among the finest you will experience anywhere. Here are just a few of the spectacular and special dining experiences this mountain town has to offer.

Snowshoe Up & Dine In A Yurt

In addition to being a premier outfitter and guiding company in Heber Valley, Wilderness Access Outfitters offers a remarkable dining experience every winter season. A half-mile guided snowshoe walk through the star-lit mountainside to a winter yurt dinner at Soldier Hollow. Dining guests are greeted by the warmth of the yurt and attentive, welcoming staff. The culinary team prepares a 4-course meal while guests enjoy beverages and star gazing on the deck or warm themselves around the fire. For a rare and special experience, this is a must during your winter stay!

Dinner In A Snow Globe

Café Galleria in Midway converts its popular outdoor summer patio into a snow globe scene during the winter season. The custom-built dining globes are fully enclosed and climate-controlled. For a nominal reservation fee, patrons can sit inside their very own snow globe and enjoy a meal among friends and family while the soft winter snow falls around them. It really is a magical and unique dining experience right here in the winter wonderland that is Heber Valley.

New this year, Homestead added dining globes as a unique extension to its culinary offerings at both Milk House and The Sunroom at the historic Virginia House.

Dinner on the Lake

The Lakehouse at Deer Creek restaurant brings a warm and intimate dining space for private meals and upscale dining while overlooking the beautiful Deer Creek reservoir and commanding mountain views.

Chocolate Should Be A Ritual

Ritual Chocolate operates its chocolate making facility, café, and private tasting room in the picturesque Heber Valley. With facility tours and ample seating to sample bars, sip lattes, and enjoy a little down time, the café is open daily. Guests can reserve the tasting room for small, private events. Learn all about the high-quality products and the intense process that goes into making the fine confections and craft chocolate, then try the tasting flight with a selection of three drinking chocolates or three chocolate bars.

The Living Room at Grand Hyatt Deer Valley serves up an impressive High Chocolate après experience. The pour over hot chocolate is paired with sweet and savory small bites, best enjoyed fireside in this luxurious yet comfortable setting. Perfect for a special celebration or a casual treat at the end of a ski day. Be sure to book in advance as this experience fills up quickly during the winter months.

Meet The Cows & Make The Cheese

At the family-owned Heber Valley Artisan Milk & Cheese dairy farm, visitors can book a tour to meet the happy cows and even pet the calves. The fully robotic milking system is part of the tour and is a fascinating use of modern-day technology for greater efficiencies at the dairy. The family offers monthly mozzarella and burrata cheese making classes, led by the farmer’s wife. Guests can visit the Kohler Creamery store to purchase locally-made cheeses, cheese curds, ice cream, or soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. It’s always fun to see where your food comes from and this up-close experience is just that!

Featured Vintners & Food Pairing Experiences

The well-known Midway Mercantile is a historical site of the original mercantile shop in Midway, Utah. The Platt family purchased the space and converted it into a neighborhood restaurant focused around bringing good food and people together – much the same as the vision of the original mercantile did in 1874. The visionary Chef and owner John Platt began hosting regular wine dinners featuring different vintners from across the country and pairing with a special night’s menu that complements the wine offerings. Each specialty dinner sales out quickly!

Year-After-Year Award-Winning Cuisine

Stay and dine at this luxury lodging establishment, then awake to an extraordinary brunch experience. The Blue Boar Inn & Restaurant in Midway is a highly acclaimed restaurant and hotel in Heber Valley. It is one of Utah’s most venerable dining establishments that boasts the highest possible Zagat rating of 26, and has received Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence, along with multiple year-after-year medals for Best of State. This old-world European chateau is nestled in the foothills of Midway and offers 16 well-appointed guest rooms. Known best as a romantic getaway for couples, Blue Boar Inn has a worldly charm that invites guests to unwind, indulge, and soak up every second of their experience.

Seafood Atop The Ski Resort

Ride up the Jordanelle Gondola at Deer Valley Resort for an impressive raw bar and seafood dining experience inside Rime Raw Bar. Open only during the winter ski season, this dining establishment offers a limited but well-loved menu. Specializing in oysters and lobster rolls, the Chef and owners live in Heber Valley and operate three different and unique eateries in the Wasatch Back. Pair a local beer or glass of bubbles with a serving of oysters on the half shell and soak in the après-ski scene.
