Top Reasons to Meet in Heber Valley

In an industry where you have to pay for everything you experience, isn’t it nice to know there are still a few places where you can get more? Heber Valley, Utah is the perfect location for truly magical mountain meetings, events, celebrations, and gatherings. With more space to spread out, more activities to experience, more places to explore, and more opportunities to connect, this stunning alpine valley is an idyllic location to get more from your event.

Let’s start with location and access:

More access than most rural mountain towns, Heber Valley, Utah is located a quick 45 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport with zero stop lights from airport to Heber, so getting here is very easy. The scenic ride to this alpine town is a picturesque way to transition from the airport in a metropolitan area to the tranquility and natural beauty that abounds along the Wasatch Back mountain range. A short canyon drive separates the city from the country, and you quickly find yourself relaxing in the serenity that surrounds you.

Sitting equidistant between two world-renowned resorts, Deer Valley Resort and Sundance Mountain Resort, allows guests convenient and quick access to either resort experience. And we’re only 15 minutes or less from the Deer Valley Resort Jordanelle Gondola, giving us the closest access to the resort.

And how your budget can stretch further:

More affordable compared to other mountain destinations, people love coming to Heber Valley, Utah for retreats, meetings, and wedding celebrations. With top-tier service at a more economical price for lodging accommodations, this destination helps keep your event elegant and on budget without sacrificing for the experience.

With more outdoor adventure:

Offering over 400 miles (644 km) of trails and lots of preserved space to explore and recreate, Heber Valley is an obvious fit for meetings and events that go beyond the board room or conference space. Here, guests have an endless list of options to get outside, have some fun, and make lifelong memories.

A few suggestions to showcase the diversity of outdoor recreation offered here:

One-of-a-kind experiences to elevate your event:

An event in Heber Valley means capturing moments and memories to last a lifetime. And you can really impress your guests with unique activities and experiences they can’t see, touch, taste, or explore anywhere else.

Here are some of the top “must see” things to do:

  • Visit the Utah Crater – a geothermal hot spring inside a cave where you can swim, snorkel, scuba, and even take a guided SUP class in the warm water
  • Take a group biathlon shooting lesson at Soldier Hollow Nordic Center, an Olympic venue that is open year-round with a focus on outdoor recreation
  • Spend a couple of hours in the winter season gliding down the longest snow tubing lanes in the state (over 1,200 feet long) at Soldier Hollow
  • If visiting in January or February, be sure to add the otherworldly Ice Castles into your itinerary (hint: book the horse drawn sleigh ride with this experience – it’s extra magical!)
  • Zip across the lake with Zip Line Utah – a two-mile continuous course and the longest zipline over an open body of water (plus four levels of ropes courses)
  • All aboard for a private group ride on the historic Heber Valley Railroad, providing views and access to some of the most pristine areas in the valley (not otherwise accessible)
  • Make time to step outside and take in the dark skies above with the million-star view
