Dining Al Fresco in Heber Valley

Al fresco dining is one of the most enjoyable ways to sample the local cuisine in Heber Valley. Many of our locally owned restauranteurs have created welcoming patios and dining areas in their establishments. The warm afternoon sun and cool nighttime breezes add to an already excellent dining experience. If you’re looking to get out of the heat and indulge in some excellent cuisine, then the Heber Valley is the place to be!

Heber North End:

Back 40 Ranch House Grill
Enjoy the spacious outdoor patio and unbeatable views of the North 40 Fields and Mount Timpanogos this summer season. With local meats and family-friendly dining, the Back 40 is all about fresh food, large portions, and big views. Be sure to try the house made “fry sauce” and try any of the amazing desserts. Request patio seating – it’s worth it! And enjoy live music Saturdays and Sundays during the summer.

Some fun facts about the original building: The original structure was a ranch house built in the fields over 80 years ago. It was moved to its current location in the late 1940s to become Heber Valley's first bar. The north half of the building was added in the mid-1980s. The latest renovation took place in 2015 using sustainable materials and building practices.

Heber Old Town:

Buon Appetito Italian Bistro
Taking Italian cuisine seriously, this newer restaurant is passionate about bringing the “best of Italy” to Heber Valley. Offering lunch and dinner service daily, diners can indulge in a variety of salads, paninis, and, of course, pasta dishes. May we recommend the lasagna, spaghetti carbonara, or chicken parmesan – just a few favorites from the menu. The patio dining here is fun way to spend an evening outdoors.

Heber Valley Pizza Company
This local pizza joint keeps it fresh and serves it hot! With a passion for food and love for Heber Valley, the owner loves specializing in things pizza. For a casual outdoor dining meal, stop by, grab a slice, and sip on the current selection of beer or wine. The location is hard to beat and the pizzas are out of this world.

Midway Main Street:

Café Galleria
This quaint restaurant has a lot of history! Originally built in 1898, the building was thoughtfully restored in 2020 and offers an expansive patio area. With fresh, house made pizzas and bagels cooked in the open brick oven, the menu is sure to please anyone looking for a taste of Italian cuisine. Live music is performed on the patio nightly Tuesday through Saturday, and Sunday mornings, throughout the summer season. And be sure to catch the wood-carved clock glockenspiel that pops out of the tall tower from the Midway Town Square building across the street at the beginning of each hour. This charming restaurant serves up great food with cool summer breezes and enjoyable music for a special dining experience in the summer. Summer Live Music Schedule

Heirloom Common
One of the newest restaurants in Heber Valley, Heirloom Common & Market in Midway is a place to gather, share a meal, and reconnect with others. Serving a collection of the “very best of” dishes from several unique Utah restaurants, this establishment is re-envisioning the dining experience. Sitting on an expansive lot, the restaurant offers a lovely al fresco dining area on the west end of historic Midway Main Street.

Lola’s Street Kitchen
Crafted by people who love real good food, the owner's goal is to create a remarkable experience that represents craft, connection, joy, love, and even play. And you certainly feel that from the fun black and white design of the brand and patio umbrellas to the food offered on the menu. This more informal eatery provides an affordable and delicious menu with mostly outdoor patio seating. Often busy, the short wait is worth it at the stand up window. Find a seat and enjoy the culinary creations under the shade of an umbrella.

Midway Mercantile
Built around the four pillars of family, friends, food, and fire, this hearth-to-table restaurant never disappoints. The newly renovated outdoor patio offers more seating capacity while maintaining an intimate dining feel to the space. From fresh and locally sourced food to inventive cocktails and an impressive wine list, this eatery is a local’s favorite! Be sure to ask about the building history as the original structure was built in 1874 and the owners have gone to great lengths to restore and preserve the original building.

Mountainside Dining:

Blue Boar Inn and Restaurant
This old-world European-style chateau has been recognized multiple times over the years for its dining experience. From quality of food to excellent service, this establishment is well-revered for those seeking an escape from the ordinary. The Hinterhof (German for “patio behind”) is one of Utah’s premiere outdoor mountain dining experiences and is located adjacent to the Inn’s magnificent gardens with stunning views of the Wasatch Mountains. For a fairytale type of dining experience, book a table at this romantic patio setting. It is sure to be a night to remember.

Lakeshore Dining:

The Lakehouse at Deer Creek
Summer nights are magical at The Lakehouse with live lakeside music, a cool patio setting and string lights creating an idyllic mood. Plus, live lakeside music on the weekends. Sit under the stars, sip craft cocktails, experience unsurpassed and unique menu of Utah heritage cuisine, and take in the stunning mountain views as you watch the sun set over the majestic Mount Timpanogos and look out onto the Deer Creek Reservoir shoreline. For an elevated dinner experience, The Lakehouse is the perfect setting.
