HEBER VALLEY, UTAH (May 12, 2026)—Heber Valley enters the 2026 summer season with significant momentum, marked by new development, expanded access, and a full calendar of visitor experiences that position the destination for continued success. This mountain destination is easily accessible, less than an hour from Salt Lake City International Airport, 20 minutes from Park City, and conveniently located along US-Hwy 40.
Development Updates
The Slope: At the center of that momentum is the April 2, 2026 groundbreaking of The Slope, a major mixed-use development that will play a key role in shaping the future of tourism in the region. Designed to complement the growing Deer Valley East Village area to the north, this project will introduce new upscale lodging, dining, and gathering spaces that enhance the visitor experience year-round. Construction is now underway, with phased openings anticipated over the next several seasons.
Canopy by Hilton: In July 2026, the destination will welcome a major new lodging property. Canopy by Hilton will be the newest hotel adjacent to Deer Valley East Village and located next to the Jordanelle Gondola. The property will feature four on-site dining concepts, direct access to mountain recreation, and a central location just off Highway 40, offering convenient access from Heber Valley, Park City, and Salt Lake City—approximately 45 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport.
Additional developments announced include The Four Seasons Hotel & Private Residences Deer Valley and Waldorf Astoria Deer Valley, both currently under construction with completion dates before 2030.
Signature Events Drive Seasonal Travel
Heber Valley’s summer calendar serves as a major draw for regional and national visitors. Signature events include:
Late summer and early fall events extend the season, with TedFest Music Festival (July 17–19) and Wasatch Boomerfest (August 28–30). Additional events throughout the summer include multiple car shows, art festivals, and themed train rides, creating a steady cadence of visitation across the season.
Noteworthy Summer Experiences
Visitors this summer will find a mix of large-scale events, weekly programming, and outdoor recreation across the valley. At both Deer Valley Resort and Sundance Mountain Resort, summer programming includes outdoor concerts, author series, and curated dining experiences that extend beyond the mountain operations.
In Heber City, expanded free programming brings consistent activity to Heber City Main Street Park throughout the summer, including the Thursday Market on Main (June–August), Saturday Sunset Music Series, Sunday Soulful Sounds music series, and free community yoga on Sunday mornings. Additional recurring experiences include the Saturday Midway Farmers Market (June–October), and daily public tours at Kohler Dairy Farm, offering visitors a behind-the-scenes look at local agriculture.
“The combination of new development, expanded programming, and strong community events is positioning Heber Valley for long-term success as a premier mountain destination,” said Dallin Koecher, Executive Director of Heber Valley Tourism, Chamber, and Economic Development.
