Midway, Utah (May 15, 2025) — U.S. Ski & Snowboard has named Team Soldier Hollow (Team SOHO) as the 2025 Club of the Year, recognizing the organization’s exceptional commitment to athlete development, community engagement, and high-performance excellence. The announcement was made on Wednesday, May 14, as part of U.S. Ski & Snowboard’s annual awards dinner.
Each year, U.S. Ski & Snowboard honors one club that demonstrates the most outstanding athletic and organizational achievements across the season. The Club of the Year Award is presented to a member club that excels in delivering high-performance results, meets or exceeds athletic benchmarks, and exemplifies best practices in club management, coaching, and community impact.
Team Soldier Hollow, based at the historic 2002 Olympic venue in Midway, Utah, stood out among a competitive field of nominees for its remarkable growth and dedication to youth development. Under the leadership of Garrett Garberich, the club has significantly expanded its reach and impact over the last several years.
“Five years ago, the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation set out to further advance its sport programs through an effort known as ‘Sport 2034’,” said Luke Bodensteiner, General Manager of Soldier Hollow Nordic Center and Chief of Sport Development for the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation. “Now with over 550 local kids skiing at least twice a week in Soldier Hollow’s programs, over $16 million invested into its facilities in the last five years, and a steady cadence of local, national and international events, Team SOHO represents the progress being made to provide everyone in our community with the opportunity to thrive through participation in winter sport.”
Team SOHO’s recognition as Club of the Year reflects its leadership in fostering a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and opportunity in winter sports. The award also highlights the club’s role in hosting major events and serving as a model for sustainable sport development.
