The Heber Valley Tourism and Economic Development office is pleased to announce that Jana Brown has been hired as the new destination sales manager for the office and will begin her work immediately. Jana previously served as the sales manager at the Best Western Plus of Heber City and before that as a sales manager at the Homestead Resort. Jana also previously worked as a national sales manager for the Park City Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureau.
As transient room tax collections have significantly increased over the past eight years, local lodging and hotel partners have expressed interest in working with Heber Valley Tourism and Economic Development to find additional ways to attract meetings and corporate groups to hotels and resorts throughout Wasatch County.
The sales manager position will help develop group business, attend national tradeshows, coordinate with tourism-related businesses on various outreach opportunities and special events, and assist the members of the office in strengthening the local tourism economy.
According to Jana Brown, “I am excited to join a great team at the Heber Valley Chamber of Commerce as the new destination sales manager. I look forward to working with our Chamber members, various meeting and event planners, and tour operators to help position the Heber Valley as a world-class tourism destination.”
According to Ryan Starks, Executive Director of the Heber Valley Chamber of Commerce, “Jana’s experience developing business for local hotels will be a great asset to our office. As a resident of Heber City, Jana understands how special our valley is, and she has the passion and knowledge to accomplish great things.”
Jana and her family reside in Heber City, and when she is not working to promote a great cause, Jana can be found hunting, hiking, and enjoying the many recreational opportunities throughout the Heber Valley.
