Traditionally an agricultural community, Heber Valley has evolved into a year-round vacation destination. Located in the heart of Wasatch County, Heber Valley and its communities are nestled between the Wasatch and Uinta mountain ranges. The communities within Heber Valley are: Heber City, the county seat; Midway, famous for its annual Swiss Days and Soldier Hollow Sheepdog Classic events; Charleston, and Daniels. Wallsburg, Jordanelle Basin and Strawberry Basin are adjacent to the west, north and south of Heber Valley. 

Park City is a quick 15 minute drive north and the Utah County cities of Provo and Orem are 20 minutes to the east. The Salt Lake International Airport is 45 minutes from Heber City -- with only one stop light between the two.

Sixty-three precent of Wasatch County is dedicated public lands. Uinta National Forest, Wasatch Mountain Sate Park, Jordanelle State Park, Deer Creek State Park and Strawberry Reservoir provide numerous campgrounds, hiking trails visitor centers and activities. Consequently, Wasatch County and the Heber Valley are outdoor recreation meccas. From family-friendly to the all-or-nothing experience, there is an endless variety of recreation.

Because these recreation amenities are located within just minutes of each other, they can easily be combined. Things to Do: No matter what your idea of fun - whether it's exploring exhibits at a museum or taking a ride on a historic train or watching waterfalls a mere stone's throw from the city - Heber Valley has something for you. State parks, relaxing spas and beautiful galleries, they're all here.

 

Recreation: The Wasatch Mountains are home to every variety of outdoor activities, both warm-weather activities like hiking and biking and cold-weather activities like cross-country and downhill skiing. And Heber Valley is no stranger to beautifully groomed golf courses.

 

Special Events: Festivals and fairs are common in Heber Valley, celebrating wildlife or poetry or European heritage. Short, fun one-day or few-hour events are easy to find, too, whether it's a themed train ride or a half-marathon. Transportation: Heber Valley's only about 45 minutes from the Salt Lake City Airport and has an airport of its own. The Valley's easily accessible by car and shuttles and car rentals are readily available at need. Park City and several ski resorts are not far away.
