It’s all just a click away! Look for the orange button that reads “Trip Planner” on the left of your screen (yep, same for mobile users!) This is where anything you select as a ‘favorite’ item by clicking the star icon on the image will appear in your customized itinerary. So… let the fun begin!

Explore our site and click away. Any item with a “star” icon is something you can mark as a favorite. Once you click the star, it turns yellow and that item is instantly added to your personal Trip Planner itinerary. Once you have all the items marked for your dream trip, open the Trip Planner by clicking the orange button on the left of your screen.

Need an itinerary for your upcoming summer vacation? But also need a separate itinerary for your business trip in the fall? Then looking for a possible return trip next winter with your extended family? The Trip Planner allows for all of that and more. Create different trips with separate itineraries all under one account. Name your trips whatever you want, add personal or custom notes, and share them with others once you have them built out. It couldn’t be easier! Add an email and password to create an account. That’s all, then you can save as many trip itineraries as you wish.

Here are some ideas for a 2-day stay, 4-day trip, or even 6-day visit this summer.

Family-friendly suggestions:

• Play on the lake: choose among three expansive lakes for lots of outdoor family recreation time (we suggest a two-hour session at Rainbow Bay Aqua Park)
• Ride the scenic and historic Heber Valley Railroad: plan ahead for one of the many themed train rides for some extra fun
• Soar through the air at Zip Line Utah: the longest over-water zip tour in the U.S.
• Meet the cows: tour the family-owned Kohler dairy farm and get a behind-the-scenes look at a modern, small dairy operation (you can meet the calves up close)

Braving the Backcountry          
Looking to get away and explore the great outdoors? You’ve come to the right place! With hundreds of miles of trails and thousands of acres of open and accessible land, the fun is yet to come in Heber Valley. Fuel up, fill up, and saddle up, then head east or west to play all day (and night) in the open lands of Wasatch County and beyond. With so much to explore, you’ll want to stay longer. The following sample itineraries share just some of the activities you can do during a 3-day trip, 4-day visit, or 5-day journey to explore this season.

Backcountry exploring ideas:

• Camp out: with three large state parks, three reservoirs, and lots of open terrain, get out and take in the starry night sky
• UTV riding: explore hundreds of miles of trails; bring your own equipment, rent from a local shop, or have an expert guide take you out
• Hiking & Biking: no matter your experience level, we have plenty of trails for you to explore – learn more about all the trails in Heber Valley for hiking, mountain biking, e-biking, bird watching, horseback riding, and geocaching

GET TO PLANNING

Once you’ve explored our site and added some favorites to your Trip Planner, see everything you marked using the “Favorites” star icon in your itinerary by clicking the “Trip Planner” button on the left side of your screen. You can easily edit your favorites within the Trip Planner tool. Next, click the “Planner” calendar icon to lay out your perfect itinerary for each day of your visit. Drag and drop your favorited items into the preferred day of your stay. 

Think you’ll want to do two days of lake fun or hiking area trails? Add it to both dates. Or maybe you want to visit the local coffee shop at least two of the mornings while you are here. Add it twice – one for each day. Of course, things can be moved around and added or deleted later. And if you have more than one trip you are planning, click on the “Trips” icon to see all saved and organized trips and itineraries. 

Everything has a shareable link so you can send your trips and full itineraries to others in your party or to family not traveling with you so they know your schedule while you are away.
