Things to Do

Heber Valley is home to six golf courses within a 3 mile radius. That’s over 100 holes of golf. That’s over 43,000 yards. That’s over 24 miles. It would take you over 24 hours to play them all!

But unless you like searching for your ball in the bushes at three in the morning, here are some tips to make you much more likely to be putting for birdies instead.

Book Tee Times Early

Golfers can find everything they want in Heber Valley, from challenging world class courses, to secluded beauty with spectacular views and vistas, making Heber Valley a popular place for weekend warriors, and the seasoned pro.

Chris Stover, golf pro with Wasatch Mountain State Park, says with so much appeal it’s a good idea to book early because tee times can fill fast. All of the courses will take reservations over the phone, but Wasatch Mountain will book times 11 days in advanced online, and Crater Springs will do two weeks out.

Booking early for a corporate event is just as important, because they will fill up fast too.

Stay Overnight

With so many courses to play you’re going to need to stay the night. It is really quite possible to play the five public courses in two days, and you’re going to want to. Think of the high caliber course you can play  – Soldier Hollow Gold rated 12 in the top 50 municipal course in the U.S. by Golfweek; the quiet solitude of the Mountain Course at Wasatch Mountain; and don’t forget the test that awaits you at Crater Springs.

Right now the Homestead Resort is celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Crater Springs Golf with a package that includes an overnight stay, and golf for two for only $115.

You’re going to need time to play so you might was well stay the night.

Bring Your Shoes

If you’re traveling on business or from out of state and you didn’t bring your clubs or didn’t want to ship them that’s okay too, all you need is your shoes.

The folks at Wasatch Mountain make it easy for you to get geared up with high quality clubs and out playing a round with rentals between $14 and $30. It’s cheaper to rent then to pack your clubs with you with rates as affordable as these.
