Wasatch County CARES Business Grant Open

In a collaboration between Wasatch County, Heber City, and Midway City, the Wasatch County CARES Business Grant Program is offered pursuant to funding received by Wasatch County through the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act). Funding will be made available to a limited number of businesses that meet specific requirements set by Wasatch County.

The Wasatch County CARES Business Grant Program will provide grants of a minimum of $5000 and up to $50,000. The applicant business must demonstrate a significant impact as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic to be considered for funding.

Applications will open on September 21st, 2020 and close on October 5th, 2020 at 11:59 PM. Funds will be disbursed until the funds are exhausted. Due to the anticipated number of submissions and limited funding, applications will be ranked based on predetermined priorities (see Wasatch County CARES Program Prioritization).

Eligibility Requirements
 

1. Business was operating in Wasatch County on or before March 1, 2020.
2. Business must be licensed in Wasatch County or a local municipality within Wasatch County.
3. Business experienced a significant negative impact from the COVID-19 Pandemic
4. Business can provide documentation showing a financial loss of at least a $5,000 or a 15% loss of profit between March 1 and May 31, 2020.
5. Business must be open or plan to reopen, as of the date of application submission.
6. The owner must be 18 years or older and have a valid EIN or Social Security Number if a Sole Proprietor.
7. Business must be able to spend the entire grant award by November 30, 2020, per U.S. Department of the Treasury requirements.
8. Business owners must have the ability to document and report on the use of funds.
