As Community Grows, So Too Does Heber Valley Hospital’s List of Doctors
(Heber City, UT) — In the last few years, Heber Valley Hospital has implemented a number of new initiatives to better serve its fast-growing community. Dialysis, LiVe Well services, an expanded ER and orthopedic surgery were just the beginning.
New additions to the hospital’s medical staff are also underway, including three providers now practicing at Heber Valley Hospital and its affiliated clinics. The most recent hires include:
Dr. Zainab Kagen, who is a board-certified pediatrician well-regarded for her compassionate care and making shared decisions with families. Dr. Kagen received her medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in 2011, and completed her pediatric residency at University of Tennessee - Chattanooga in 2014. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and cares for children of all ages, from newborn to early adulthood. Dr. Kagen's personal interests include cooking, reading, mountain-biking and hiking with her son and husband.
Dr. Kathryn Murray is a pediatrician interested in behavior and development, with a special interest in autism. She received her medical degree and pediatric residency training from the University of Utah. Dr. Murray says she loves adolescent medicine for many reasons, but mostly because, “I get to watch my patients grow up and I never stop learning!”
In her leisure time she enjoys hiking, skiing (water and snow), and spending time with family.>
Prior to needing a pediatrician, patients need an OB/GYN, so Heber Hospital added Dr. Brandon Longenecker to its staff. He’ll join Dr. Christopher Cook’s practice located in the hospital.
Dr. Longenecker graduated from the Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his training at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, Michigan. He’s learning Spanish, speaks fluent Portuguese, and enjoys fly-fishing, photography and spending time with his wife and four children.
