There’s something about hurling a hatchet that gets your blood pumping! Come to Heber Valley to see where the hatchet-throwing trend all got started. That’s right! Heber Valley was the location for the first Heber Hatchets in 2018, bringing you a unique form of entertainment.
Compete with your friends for bragging rights, share laughs, make memories together and see who has the best technique to get a bullseye! Wear your closed-toed shoes, bring treats (or have some here) and participate in games that will create lasting memories.
If you still want a chance to look out the window and enjoy the changing season without experiencing the chill of the spring air, a ride on the Heber Valley Railroad is exactly what you’re searching for. Nicknamed the Heber Creeper, riders of all ages can experience a large variety of novel rides.
Each train ride offers a different experience. Starting with the scenic trains, you can ride the rails through the Provo Canyon or around the lakes and creeks as you enjoy the slow-paced and relaxing ride. Often, live entertainment can serenade you on this journey through the countryside, along with options for concessions and a box lunch depending on your ride time.
Train specials are memorable for families and young children among other adults as there are broadway show tune trains, princess and pirate trains, cowboy trains, the chocolate-lovers train and more. Trains for specific holidays including Valentines, St. Paddy’s and Easter offer an annual treat for riders to have an enjoyable and party-filled ride that will give you the experience of a lifetime.

For some, part of the spring fever feeling is that the lakes aren’t warm enough and outdoor pools aren’t open yet!
Regardless of the outside weather, you can still have a splashing time at the Wasatch Aquatic Center. Open year-round with countless activities and exercise classes, you can not only sign up for swimming lessons but also enjoy the open plunge times, Wibit (the inflatable obstacle course for recreation) and more!
If you want to enjoy fun and exercise at the same time, sign up for Boga Mat Yoga or Floga Fit, both types of yoga are done on floating mats in the pool. Water Aerobics and Water Zumba are also classes that might interest you.
With teams for Splash-Ball, water polo and swimming, there are many ways to enjoy the water in the winter at the Wasatch Aquatic Center that will make it feel like spring is right around the corner in Heber Valley.

See how the dairy operates with trendsetting technology any weekday Monday through Saturday around lunchtime (11:00 a.m.) or take a creamery tour to see how the milk is handcrafted into cheese. Heber Valley Artisan Cheese Tours have limited space so it is suggested to make reservations beforehand. This is a fun experience for the whole family to get an inside look into the farm, dairy and creamery.
If you want to experience the creamery in another way, attend cheese tastings or a mozzarella -making class. These events occur bi-monthly and are perfect for nights on the town. These classes must be purchased and reserved in advance. To learn more about the dairy, read our blog post about it.
